it works just needs some bone meal injected into the system, there are 4 spots that are using bone meal, if you preload each one with 1 stack of bone meal then it will take roughly 3.5 in game days for the system to fully load itself during which 5.5 stacks of bone meal will end up in the output chest.
*Note, during the loading phase you should keep an eye on your dispensers and the hoppers feeding them as this system is prone to spillage and you could clog it with the items that are meant to be composted
