Minecart Nether Portal Chunk Loader

A simple, cheap chunk loader compatible with nether portal changes in 1.21.5.

Positives

  • Mob-proof variant: Cannot be interfered with by mobs.
  • Restart proof
  • Toggles in both dimensions
  • Player-accessible

Negatives

  • Base version: Mobs that can fly or are at least three blocks tall may bump the minecart, breaking the chunk loader.
  • Can break during server crashes

Instructions Notes

  • Two blocks behind the portal must remain clear (marked in schematic).

Build

  • Rotate the build 180° in the opposite dimension for return side.

How to use

  1. Ensure all levers are powered.
  2. Place a minecart on one of the rails.
  3. To toggle off, depower the on/off lever either side (only unmarked lever in schematic).
