Ignore the crappy roof design, you should probably change that lol. Uses a simple observer piston combo to break sugar cane onto mud blocks (oriented in square layers), and a single hopper chain to bring everything down into the chest. The schematic has more sugar cane than necessary to start the farm, 60 pieces is enough to fill every mud block.
