Through very little work, my automatic and extremely efficient Minecraft chicken farm produces cooked chicken and feathers. The farm, that was constructed with redstone and hoppers, gathers eggs from a flock of laying hens and uses a dispenser to automatically dispense them into a cooking chamber. Upon hatching, the chicks are securely kept on a slab until they reach adulthood. A lava dispenser briefly activates when they reach full size, cooking them immediately and gathering the drops. For convenient access, every item funnels through hoppers into a chest. This small design offers a consistent supply of food and materials while conserving resources and space. I've added lighting to deter hostile mobs and enclosed the farm in glass so I can keep an eye on things.
