I would say you've missed the back of this farm off, the redstone at the back doesn't connect into anything so the pistons never fire.

The farm doesn't work.. I pasted it in my world based of of the schematic that you can download and there is no lever to turn the farm on, the bamboo just keeps growing and nothing happens..
